Session 1: Start the Countdown
SESSION 1 SUMMARY
Whichever phase your kid is in right now will go by faster than you think. To illustrate this in a compelling way, we like to use a jar of marbles filled with 936 marbles—the estimated number of weeks between birth and high school graduation. When you remove a marble for each week of a kid’s life, it enforces a simple principle: When you see how much time you have left, you tend to get serious about the time you have now.
During the next few weeks, we are going to invite you to lose your marbles in a very strategic way. We want to help you leverage your time effectively during each phase of your kid’s life. We want to help you use your weeks to equip your kid with valuable, emotional building blocks, and to help you have critical conversations about sex, technology, health, and faith. We want to show you how the ordinary things you do make an extraordinary difference when you do them over time.
