Discipleship Trips are a tool at Beach Church used to teach the value of being with God, before you do anything for God. This tool helps develop peoples understanding of God’s will in their lives and increase their ability to hear God’s voice.
Our desire is that through a Discipleship Trip, you will be transformed by being with the Holy Spirit and develop a deeper relationship with God that activates you to take action through doing what God has called you to do.
How do Discipleship Trips work?
On these trips, you’ll be taken out of your element and partner with other local churches around the world as you come along side of them to build God’s Kingdom. This partnership will teach you the value of being with God, before you do anything for God, or as we like to say it at Beach Church, “Be Before Do.”
How is it different from a mission trip?
Unlike commonly known “Mission Trips”, the goal of our trips is not to land on a foreign land and do a laundry list of tasks. We have found this approach to be limited in its reach and ability to leave a lasting impact. Instead, our trips revolve around experiencing a transformational week with an already thriving ministry, learning from them, and returning home changed with a better appreciation for God’s global church and the importance of serving God through obedience, not ambition.
We believe that doing for God is incredibly important, but without first being with God, it’s simply human effort that accomplishes nothing spiritually (John 6:63-65). Instead, we hope that learning to be with God on these trips will help activate your obedience and help you take the steps to do exactly what God has design you to do in order to live a faith that is impactful to an unbelieving world (James 2:14-17).
