“You’re Not the Boss of Me!”
It’s a common phrase you hear kids say to their parents or other children. But it’s not just for kids; there’s a “you’re not the boss of me” spirit that rises up in all of us because no one wants to be bossed around!
And yet so many of us are often bossed around by the emotions that go on inside of us – emotions like envy, anger, fear, and guilt. No matter how hard we try to manage our behavior, these powerful emotions stir in our hearts and eventually surface in our attitudes, our words, and our actions. We want to encourage all of us that life change isn’t about managing outward behavior; it’s about learning how to surrender our hearts and emotions to the influence of Jesus.
