internship vision

Internships at Beach Church are designed to give hands-on experience and training for vocational ministry. As a church we exist to reach, raise up, and release followers of Jesus who change the world. Our desire for the internship program is to raise up and release the next generation of ministry leaders with the Beach Church DNA.

We are looking for the best young leaders who are looking to take the next step in their ministry calling. Whether you are just graduating from college or seminary, or feel God calling you in a new direction, we are ready to partner with you to help prepare you for the next part of your ministry journey.

internship timeline and tracks

The internship program lasts 11 months from September through July. During this time you will develop in 4 key areas: 1) personal spiritual development 2) theological development within the Wesleyan tradition 3) practical ministry theory and 4) hands on ministry experience within one of our awesome ministry departments. Interns will choose a focus in one of the following tracks: Lead Pastor/Campus Pastor, Worship/Tech Ministry, BeachKids, Connections, Beach Students, Communications, Missions, or Operations.

The internship is unpaid (though you may consider raising funds, which we can help with). However, we will provide your housing only 3 blocks from the beach (major perk!). Spaces are limited, so make sure you apply in a timely manner.

I felt God calling me into ministry for a few years, but had no idea what that meant for my life going forward. I didn’t know how to start or what I needed to learn in order to live out the call God placed on me and my life.

When Beach opened the internship, I knew this was a step I needed to take, but had no idea how impactful it would be. Throughout the program, I learned very practical ministry life, developed in my theology, and became even more confident in my calling to ministry.

I loved my time interning with Beach! One of the best parts was being able to ask questions and learn from our lead pastors. That one-on-one time each week is something that made all the difference in my understanding of my calling to ministry.

This internship also gave me an opportunity to experience working in ministry. I’d volunteered for years, but interning gave me ongoing insight to how the church operates, how decisions are made, and how ministry happens!
